ABOUT ME

Genevieve Griffiths, founder of Drawing Board Tasmania. A woman with shoulder-length brown hair and a fringe, smiling, wearing a white button-up shirt and a navy blue cardigan with red anchor designs, standing outdoors in front of green foliage.

Hi, I’m Gen, the founder of Drawing Board. With a Masters of Architecture from Melbourne University and two decades of experience at design-focused firms across Melbourne and Tasmania, I've had the privilege of working on projects spanning every scale and budget imaginable, but always come back to residential work. I love the challenge of helping people celebrate what's already wonderful about their homes while thoughtfully addressing the not-so-wonderful bits.

Based in nipaluna / Hobart with my family and an ever expanding collection of animals (see below), I bring a lifelong passion for craft, art and handmade objects to everything I design. These aren't just hobbies, they're fundamental to how I work and live. Bringing a creative, detailed eye to every job and informing every decision from material selection to joinery details to the way the morning light enters your kitchen.

Likes: sunshine, textile arts, mid century design, robust natural materials, native gardens, the beach (the place, not the movie), all the colours.

Dislikes: drawers that stick, double garages, materials pretending to be something else, dark spaces, big grey tiles, cold feet, empty pens.
